The Power of Norms
In society in that respect are specific ways in which we must behave and in like manner how we are expected to behave. Some are dictated through with(predicate) laws such as speed limit signs, stop signs and tied(p) how to behave in a public establishment. There are also rules for behavior that are not written in the laws but are none the less expected us to adhere to, such as holding the door for soul who is walking up to it even how to eat you food in public. These are called social norms, which are just shared rules of get that society as a whole are taught to as children and expected to follow all the way up.
For my look into on breaking the norm, I enlisted the help of my friend Doug. He has a friend who owns a restaurant. We told him how I was doing a class experiment on breaking the norm and I would love to do it in his establishment. I told him that I wishinged to get a huge plate of spaghetti with extra sauce and eat it with my custody and wouldnt clean up until I was done. He purview ii would be a great idea and allowed me to do so. It was or so 1:30 in the afternoon and there were 6 people already in the restaurant when we got there, 2 couples and 2 others eating by themselves.
My friend Doug went to sit at the bar because he said he would be similarly embarrassed to sit with me when everyone killed to glance. About 10 minutes posterior the owner brought out the plate of spaghetti and it was loaded with sauce. At this decimal point everyone else there was eating normal and taking amongst themselves. I start mixing the sauce all virtuallywhat the plat with my fingers and accordingly grab a hand full of noodles and cram them into my mouth. As Im eating I look around at everyone else there but no one has spy me yet, but after I get to about the one-fourth hand full I can see some of the other customers have started to stop eating their lunch and stare at the way I was eating.
